After a slightly wild January which lasted for about a week (so not that bad really) normal Mallorcan weather was restored and we have had beautiful sunshine and low winds throughout February and early March as I write this post. With spring coming and longer days on the bike now an option we have been riding to every part of the island.

The really exciting news (for us cyclists) is that we have some brand new tarmac to celebrate from the Pollenca roundabout all the way through to the Puerto Pollenca roundabout. All of the road has been re-laid including the cycle path which now makes your journey to Puerto Pollenca or Formentor that much nicer and makes it safer as you can stay in the cycle lane at all times. This is also one of the main roads you join form the Colll de Femenia descend.

Also, you will be pleased to know our friends at Sa Ruta Verda are now open again. A wonderful coffee stop at the foot of the Coll sa Batalla

Be sure to swing in either on your way down or on your way up and see the fun loving Lennart who will serve a great coffee and a delightful piece of homemade cake (portions are very good!) in a relaxed and peaceful surrounding whilst you rest legs on a comfy sofa. There is also a handy bike rack in the cafe so you can keep your eyes on your pride and joy at all times. Click here for more details.

It’s getting busy in Mallorca but there is plenty of room for everyone. However, let’s remember to keep two abreast and respect the locals, this is very important to ensure we maintain a good relationship over the busier months. We have very limited spaces on our April and May trips but do drop us an email if you need any help. We are already taking bookings for September and October which is one our favourite and most popular times of year to visit the island. Weather is still in the twenties and there is plenty of brilliant cycling to be done. Click here to find out more about our trips.

We look forward seeing you in Mallorca soon.
