Key Towns: Palma de Mallorca, Platja de Palma, Palmanova, Magaluf
The center of the action in Mallorca, hundreds of thousands of tourists never make it out of Palma bay. Palma bay contains the international airport and seaport as well as the Balearic capital of Palma de Mallorca. The bay contains two distinct areas; Palma de Mallorca, the business and cultural hub of Mallorca and the bay resorts, a mecca for sun, sand and sea loving tourists.
Accommodation is abundant and ranges from dirt cheap to high-end 5 star hotels. The bay resorts (Platja de Palam, Palmanova and Magaluf) boast sandy beaches, raucous night-life and all the comforts of England or Germany. Stick in Palma de Mallorca if your looking for something a bit more refined (or Spanish).
Palma bay has good access to the climbs of the Western Serra de Tramuntana, the Cat 1 climbs of Puig Major and Sa Colbra are around 40km away but you’ll need to scale the Col de Sóller to get there. Plenty of quiet flat riding can be easily accessed to the east of Palma Bay. Palma Bay is also the easiest area to access from the airport, handing if you’re lugging a bike box.
