Key Towns: Andratx, Port d’Andratx, Estenllencs, Valldemossa, Deià
The Western half of the Serra de Tramuntana runs from Sóller to Andratx. Whilst not as high as the Eastern half of the range, peaks are aplenty and the Western Serra contains some of the most enchanting villages and towns on the island. Add to this the ease of access to Palma and the airport and the Western Serra is a great choice for cyclists. Port d’Andratx is where the rich and famous come to rub shoulders and show off their yachts. Valldemossa and Deià are old settlements nestled in the hills, the former famous for its Charterhouse and the latter as an artists getaway. A great area to rent a villa away from it all.
Another area for the keen climber. The climbs of the Western Serra are much quieter (motor and cycle traffic) than the Eastern Serra. The MA-10 road hugs the coast and runs the length of the Western Serra and offers some magical riding.
